Join the Amala Changemaker Schools Community

A global network taking action for refugee education

Over 122 million people have been forced to flee their homes, and for young refugees, this often means losing their education - and with it, the opportunity to build their future.

Amala is changing this by creating transformative education opportunities, designed with and for young refugees - but we can’t do it alone.

Amala Changemaker Schools are secondary schools committed to learning about refugee education and taking meaningful action through fundraising, advocacy, and awareness-raising.

By joining the Changemaker Schools Community, your school becomes part of a global movement that believes every young person should have access to an education that can shape their future, turning dreams into reality.

What is the Changemaker Schools Community?

The Changemaker Schools Community is a network of schools dedicated to:

  • Learning about the experiences of refugees and the barriers they face in accessing education.

  • Challenging misconceptions and celebrating the achievements of refugees.

  • Taking concrete action through fundraising, awareness, and advocacy to support refugee youth.

At Amala, we believe that fundraising and advocacy go hand in hand, ensuring that young refugees have access to education and the opportunities they deserve.

Our Changemaker Schools Toolkit provides flexible, ready-to-use learning resources designed for secondary students. It supports both student-led and teacher-led initiatives, making it easy to integrate refugee education into your school community.

By combining learning with action, the Changemaker Schools Community enables students to become advocates and fundraisers for refugee education.

How Your School Can Get Involved
