Covid-19 Statement
The spread and impact of COVID-19 is altering the work of most organisations around the world, including Amala. As we navigate through these uncertain times our key priority is the health and safety of our students, staff and volunteers.
As of Friday of last week, our programmes with partners in Kenya, Greece, and Trinidad and Tobago have been temporarily suspended in accordance with government regulations in these countries. We follow the development of the situation very closely, and will resume classes once it is safe to do so.
We have also taken the difficult decision to delay the launch of the Amala High School Diploma Programme. The programme is currently due to start in mid-June in Amman, Jordan and later on this year in Kakuma Camp, Kenya, but these plans are currently on hold. Applications for the Diploma Programme in Amman, Jordan remain open, and if the situation allows us to, we will start classes in June 2020. We will of course continually assess this timeline as the situation develops, prioritising the safety and health of our students.
